TELL US ABOUT TREND MOGUL SYDNEY. WHEN YOU STARTED IT, WHAT YOUR INSPIRATION WAS, FUTURE GOALS, WHERE YOU’RE LOCATED, ETC.

Ever since grade school I have been obsessed with interior design and organisation – I remember driving my parents crazy re-organising the house, and dragging them along to open houses. I would collect magazine clippings of houses and interiors I liked. This progressed to a Pinterest obsession which turned into my Instagram page and blog. I wanted to share my likes and ideas with others and that’s how Trend Mogul was born. I am based in Sydney, Australia, however I draw my inspiration from all over the world. I hope to pursue public relations as a career – I would particularly love to work with other interior designers and lifestyle bloggers.

WHAT INTERIOR DESIGN STYLES ARE YOU MOST INFLUENCED AND INSPIRED BY?

It wasn’t until I started up Trend Mogul that I discovered my love of Scandinavian design. I love it’s cozy rawness, the way it mimics nature and looks so warm and inviting. However, I am not an exclusive Scandi-design lover. I also love mid-century modern and Classic design (pretty much anything from Pottery Barn or West Elm!) My dream home would be a Brooklyn brownstone – with a Scandi x Classic interior.

WHAT HAS BEEN THE BEST PART OF BLOGGING SO FAR?

Learning about different design trends from all over the world. Blogging has opened my mind to trends and ideas that I have never before considered. I also love meeting and connecting with other bloggers and professionals in creative industries.

WHERE DO YOU SOURCE YOUR INSPIRATION?

Pinterest is my go-to for interior inspiration, as are my favourite Instagram accounts. I do a lot of travelling and this has had a large impact on my design preferences. I love to spend my weekends in Ikea, Pottery Barn, Williams-Sonoma and small/quirky homeware stores, dreaming of what my home could look like if I had unlimited money!

FAVORITE TRAVEL DESTINATION?

New York’s inherent energy and timeless elegance keeps me coming back for more. I have been there more times than I can count and I don’t think I’ll ever grow sick of visiting the Big Apple.

THREE MUST HAVE BEAUTY / SKIN CARE PRODUCTS?

I don’t wear a lot of make-up, instead I like to focus on the health and quality of my skin. On a typical day I wear a hydrating moisturiser and a light mineral foundation. I only like to use products on my skin that are organic and nature based. I can’t live without…

BareMinerals Original SPF 15 Foundation

Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil

Diorshow Iconic Overcurl By Dior

3 FAVORITE INSTAGRAM ACCOUNTS?

Alexander White @alexanderwhitesthlm

Bjurfors Göteborgsregionen @bjurfors_goteborg

West Elm @westelm

DOES YOUR PERSONAL STYLE MATCH YOUR INTERIOR STYLE?

On a typical day I like to stick to the basics – a black/white/grey/striped tee, matched with a simple skirt or chino shorts and Birkenstocks – I think this matches my love for ‘Scandinavian’ interior design. When I dress up I like to adhere to a more ‘classic’ look – preppy, flowy dresses, florals, etc. I think this is where my love for Classic interior design comes in!

MUST HAVE FASHION ACCESSORY?

No outfit is complete without a fabulous pair of sunglasses! I never leave the house without my Ray Ban aviators or black Aje cat eye’s.
